Of Course I know what I am doing.

Just in case you think I don't know what I am doing, I thought I'd better mention that I have had a lesson with "Hobbs" at the Dittons Skiff and Punting Club. Hobbs reassured me that he's the best instructor at the club, and he also reassured me I was the best novice he'd ever taught. I think Hobbs might be a liar.

My first and last 'skiffing' lesson on the Thames.

  1. Actually, Colin's missus is the best instructor at the Club, which is situated opposite Hampton Court on the River Thames. But Hobbs is also very good, honest.

  2. Chris, didn't see you 'dominating' the skiffing regattas.... unlike me of course!
I actually learnt at Skiff Club - arch rivals to Dittons. You don't look too bad in the photo, BTW.

Please pass on luv'n'stuff to Charlotte and the boys.

  5. The snow from November is still on the ground here in the UK and we are still recovering from the recent horror, of Jones's visit in October.

Skiffing is continuing at DSPC throughout the winter unless the river gets too high.

However, what is happening to the boat building programme in the summer months down under? is this idea just pie in the internet?

With regard to Jo's skiffing, ah. Actually most oarsmen don't adapt to the the skiffing technique immediately. Jo obviously ignored me (rather than listening to me) and did.
